Yang udah nonton Despicable Me 2, pasti udah familiar banget sama lagu penutupan saat pernikahan Gru dan Lucy di film sequel-nya ini,, we called Y.M.C.A. Lagunya bagus, ceria banget, arransement music-nya juga ok punya, enak buat didengerin sambil nge-dance buat yang lagi pusing,, hehe. Mungkin diantara kalian banyak yang bertanya-tanya tentang apa arti dari lagu yang dinyanyikan oleh para minion gokil ini. Pengalaman aku pribadi sih, "masa sih lagu sebagus ini ga ada teks dalam bahasa manusia-nya ? hahahaha...
Nah,, usut punya usut lagu ini memang merupakan cover song dari penyanyi aslinya, sebuah grup musik disco asal USA bernama VILLAGE PEOPLE yang eksis dari tahun 1970-an. Singel mereka Y.M.C.A ini dirilis pada tahun 1978 dalam album berjudul Cruisin'. Mungkin kalau Ibu dan Ayah kita saat ikutan nonton film ini dan ngedengerin lagu ini pasti akan langsung ngeh, "wah,, ini mah lagu jaman papa dulu, koq jadi gini liriknya yaa..?". Tapi kalo kita anak2 yang eksis mulai dari tahun 1990-an sampai sekarang mah, ya ga bakalan tau. For your information, kepanjangan dari YMCA itu sendiri adalah Young Men's Christian Association (yang merupakan suatu organisasi/komunitas besar, internasional).
